Pursuit Loop
One shuffled closed loop: every cell pursues the next and has one pursuer. Randomly phased escape compasses and configurable blocked waits keep trying new directions.

Pursue. Turn. Escape.
- 01Shuffle all living cells into one closed targeting loop. Each cell follows the next and has exactly one pursuer. These links stay fixed.
- 02Pursue up to 1 square, one at a time. A block ends the turn. After 0 extra waiting turns, a later turn may use a one-square angular escape.
- 03Use the angular heading shown now, then rotate. Only an empty square with one final claimant accepts a move. Competing pursuit and angular moves all wait.
Population and the single loop stay fixed. The escape compass starts at a random one of eight headings with a fixed random CW/CCW sense. Cardinal bearings update every turn, including while blocked. Each advance uses frozen occupancy. The angular compass turns 45° once per full turn. Reset repeats the field, loop and both compasses. Escape offers later attempts, but a completely packed field cannot move.
Click a cell to pause and inspect both compasses and its target. Dark dots show pursuit; light marks show angular direction.
