At least 6 living neighbors trigger immediate infection throughout touching eligible cells. Each cell gets 9 protected turns, then 4 complete vulnerable turns. Contact never refreshes an infection. A recovering cell cannot catch or relay it.

The infected body adds every member’s compass vote and moves one cell if every destination is free or belongs to itself. Outside occupants or competing bodies block the whole move. Zero or tied compass sums rest.

Compasses turn after acting, even when blocked. Interval zero holds heading. 0 NW · 1 N · 2 NE · 3 E · 4 SE · 5 S · 6 SW · 7 W.

Edits pause playback. Existing infection keeps its remaining turns; the break setting applies when infection ends. Changing compass cadence restarts turn counters. Reset reconstructs the opening.

Dense clusters catch a shared fever, move together by their collective compasses, then face ordinary Life during a mandatory break.

Current composition

01Freeze the board. An eligible cell with at least 6 neighbors or an existing infection infects its entire touching eligible cluster.
02Add every infected member’s equal compass vote. A resolved direction translates the whole body if its destinations are clear. Any obstacle or competing claim blocks the entire move.
03Infection protects for 9 turns without refresh, followed by 4 vulnerable turns. Recovering cells cannot catch or relay infection.
04Other cells follow B4/S016 at frozen counts. Arrivals supersede births. Compasses tick after acting. Newborns first act next turn.
